My thoughts are with you |
September 8, 2008 |
Chet, I don't know what to say at a time like this. Please know that I am praying for you and your family; that you will have whatever you need at this time to comfort you. I know the struggle you went through, and now maybe you can rest since your mom is at rest.

Cousin Chester and those nearest and dearest to Olivia you are in my prayers, and I join you in the joy and sorrow of this time. Time and distance caused me to lose track of Olivia, but how wonderful and blessed a family we are that so many of have come to faith in Jesus Christ our Lord, and cannot lose track of those who are now IN POSSESSION of the place that the Lord has prepared for us. See you when I get there Olivia.

Chester and Family
In sickness or health, in suffering and pain, in storm laden skies, in sunshine and rain,God is always there to lighten you way and lead you through "darkness" to a much brighter day.
Weeping may endure thru the night, but joy will come in the morning.
I will miss my neice olivia, but I know she is in a better place.
Stay strong and God bless all of you

to chester and family - losing two close cousins in one week is hard, but the LORD makes no mistakes. Olivia is going to be missed so much, but the family here in Elizabeth city, north carolina know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she lived a good christian life and she is resting safe in the arms of Jesus.
There are many things in life that we cannot understand, but we must trust God's judgement and be guided by his hand, and all who have God's blessing, can rest safely in his care. For he promises "safe passage"on the wings of faith and prayer.Olivia you will forever be in our hearts.

Olivia graciously shared every gift of God that she possessed and this will doubtless continue to bear fruit for God's Kingdom. She has fought the good fight and she has finished the race. I am ever grateful for her listening ways and her words of encouragement and her longtime friendship with me and my parents. I wish all her family a special sense of God's presence through this time of grieving.
With Love,
Meredith Ryan

To my family.
Yes, we live so far, but I have learned that there is no distance when there is love. May you know that Olivia is at peace now, no pain, no fear, no heartache. Olivia is where we all one day want to be.
To my beloved family know that we here in Indianapolis and North Carolina are praying for you all. If there is anything we can do please know that we are here. Love you always Cookie and family.

Cousin Olivia was my second mother. She was the best.
There are so many wonderful memories. One of those memories is when I was about four and I kept watching her light her cigarettes. I waited for my opportunity. When she turned away I grabbed and lit one of her matches.
You can predict what happened next. I almost lit the couch on fire. Cousin Olivia extinguished the match as I cried because I had burned my finger. I had watched her light plenty of cigarettes and I didn't know, as any four year-old wouldn't that
fires grow.
This story was just one, but the most memorable, of many that occurred while I was with my Cousin Libby.
